tldr; Budget South-facing 75%. Good starter board from Akko. Solid value with their switches.

Best praise vs top criticism for Akko 5075S
“I just got it. I do think it's really great for the price, but it takes some modding. It's a little hollow sounding if I am honest for the same amount of modding, I think you should consider the Sense75, if it's still at its 99 dollar price point. Or for the around the same price as the Drop Sense75 you can also get the Monsgeek M1, but I think the RGB on the Sense75 is probably the best out there for the sub 100 dollar price point. Don't get me wrong, the Akko 5075 is a really good keyboard, but despite being gasket mounted it has almost no flex. Maybe it needs a PC plate or something. The lighting is good and the side accent lights are also nice. The color choices on it in the VIA software is not too bad, but not as good as some thing like the NK87. I would recommend if you specifically like the Akko brand. In my opinion (and with modding on all of them), if you like RGB, get the Sense75. If you like the aluminum heft, go with the Monsgeek M1. If you like plastic then I would actually recommend the Keychron V1 (w/ knob). But if you wanna save a little more money, the Akko 5075S VIA edition is really nice.”
