Best praise vs top criticism for 1Zpresso K-Plus
“They both taste great with high quality coffees of all varieties Based on the coffee these ranges ZP6 I use 3-7, starting point 5 K-Plus/ I use 5-9 starting point 7 ZP6 might not taste as good if the coffee is super processed/funky and of lower quality, but I've found it to taste amazing with high quality lighter roasted coffees from clean washed all the way to double Anaerobic, thermal shock and cofermets with crazy flavor separation and lighter body K-Plus tastes great for everything from dark to ultra light, with less flavor separation but more body I use them both for all coffees to change the profile I use ZP6 for super ultra light roasted washed coffees because it produces less fines letting me grind really good and push those coffees hard without stalling”
“The K-Plus is NOT designed to be an espresso grinder, it is intended to be a Coffee Grinder. It adjusts 22 microns per click. You want the J-Max which is designed to be primarily an espresso grinder. It adjusts 8.8 microns per click, allowing you to make the fine adjustments needed to accurately dial in an espresso grind. For every two clicks with the K-Plus you get five with the J-Max. That is considerably finer adjustment. The J-Max also costs \~$60 less and will entirely allow you to grind regular coffee as well if you need that capability. It just takes 2.5 times more clicks to move from Espresso to Coffee. But you can totally do it. Edit: To clarify slightly. You can of course technically use a K-Plus for espresso, it will do in a pinch. But it is not designed for that, so if you are buying a hand-grinder to go with an actual espresso machine it is not really the right choice.”
