“It's an awesome camera but yeah, overkill for your use case. With that being said, unless you're hurting for cash I'd have no buyer's remorse. We certainly don't need the latest and the greatest every year, but I wouldn't complain about having the latest and the greatest lol. You never know where your photography journey will take you, at least you know that the A7V would handle any journey you take though. I can see pre-capture being useful in portraits, lifestyle, and street photography too.”

The α1 II features a dedicated AI processing unit that helps to recognize people more accurately based on human pose estimation and supports recognition of a wide range of subjects other than people, such as animals, vehicles and insects*5, with high accuracy. This results in a dramatic improvement in Real-time Recognition AF and Real-time Tracking capability, and higher overall AF performance.
High-speed continuous shooting at up to 30 fps2 with full AF/AE tracking is possible at a stunning 50.1 MP1 resolution, with up to 120 AF/AE calculations per second*12 on the data from the image sensor. Blackout-free shooting with no loss of viewfinder image allows seamless framing and capture of the subject as if viewed with the naked eye.
A partially stacked Exmor RS CMOS image sensor features high-speed circuitry above and below the sensing layer. Sensor readout is approx. 4.5 x1 faster than the α7 IV, maximum shutter speed is 1/16000 s, 2 blackout-free bursts at up to 30 fps are available with AF/AE tracking, 3 and video can be recorded at 4K 120p.4 This advanced sensor contributes up to an unprecedented 16 stops of dynamic range*5 with smooth gradations.
The new 33.0-megapixel8 sensor and BIONZ XR2 processing engine work together to deliver up to 16 stops of dynamic range. 9 Lifelike gradations from shadows to highlights enable highly effective HDR processing when needed, and effective noise reduction applied at all sensitivities achieves high resolution throughout the ISO 100-51200 still and movie range (expandable to 50-204800 for stills and 100-102400 for movies).
