What Redditors Say
Best praise vs top criticism for Asus Vivobook S 14 OLED
Best Praise
+25 pts“I have a Zenbook 14 OLED... it's stunning. My battery isn't great since i have the Core Ultra 9 model but still 6 hours browsing and regular stuff. The only issue is the "easy replacement" part... and I really don't see too much about repairability now only with Framework but that'd be overkill for what you want. It has upgradeable storage at least. The basic (not very basic but) Core Ultra 7 155H meets everything but the easily replaced part (unfortunately the core ultra 5 only has 8gb ram). Where are you from? However, if you are from America (I'm not but it's where most people post about) a Vivobook S14 with a core ultra 5 226v has 16gb ram and 512gb SSD and is a good option for $600 on Amazon.”

+22 pts“For starters, realize that an under $300 is an extremely budget range for laptops. You will have to sacrifice with thing or another. But to make things easy for, I highly recommend the [Acer Aspire 3 A315-24P-R7VH](https://pcgearlab.com/reviews/acer-aspire-3-a315-24p-r7vh/). Why? for starters it has an amazing CPU AMD Ryzen 3 7320U and not the laughable Celeron, Pentium or Athlon CPUs that you find on budget laptop. PLEASE do not go for Celeron CPUs or even some of the weaker Pentium CPU models if you want a smooth experience. Can't stress this advise enough. So other than that, it has a very nice set of specs including 8 GB of DDR5 RAM (should be more than sufficient for multitasking) a very nice 15.6" (FHD) screen that too with an IPS panel. Note, do not go for HD screen, go for full HD or 1920x1080 screen for a great multitasking experience. HD has a lower pixel real estate as compared to FHD. So what do you sacrifice here? Well, you will have to sacrifice storage space. This laptop features 128 GB of NVMe SSD only. Albeit on a positive note, it is an NVMe SSD so its going to stupendously fast as compared to any normal HDD storage. Now, personally, I am ok with sacrificing storage for a better core hardware. Why? because you can always buy a large storage space later on OR get an external storage space for cheap. The CPU, however, is something you cannot change ever. So think about longevity. Always get a laptop with good CPU as compared to a higher storage space especially in the budget range.”
